Bayern Munich will be coming up against their old foes Borussia Dortmund during the weekend looking to finally reverse the trend that has seen them concede a lot of defeats in recent seasons. The Bayern Munich midfielder Thomas Müller is of the opinion that his club can finally end the lack of a victory against the current champions. Even though Borussia Dortmund come into the match as the defending champions, they are extremely far-off from retaining the title this time around because Bayern Munich have been excellent in the league. They already have a seven-point advantage over Bayern Leverkusen, who are ahead of Dortmund in the table.

Bayern Munich have been defeated in the last four matches without exception when they have faced Borussia Dortmund. This includes the humiliating 5-2 defeat in the German Cup final last season. Thomas Müller has said that this current Bayern Munich team contains most of the players who have been at the end of the wrong score against Dortmund in the last two years, and they are extremely desperate to change the record. The rigours of playing in the Champions League have taken the shine out of the Borussia Dortmund team in the league this season. Müller has said that this is the perfect time to play Dortmund.

“Eighty percent of the Bayern players have been involved in the last two years when we’ve been well and truly beaten by Dortmund – and we want to turn that round,” said the Bayern Munich midfielder. “It will be a difficult game for us. Bayern are favourites, they are playing their own season. The fact is Bayern are showing a different nature compared to last season, they are greedy and bitter,” said the Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp. Dortmund are 11 points behind Bayern in the table.
