BAYERN MUNICH VS. WOLFSBURG: TEAM NEWS AND PROBABLE LINE-UPS

Uncategorized

Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg will go toe-to-toe on Wednesday night as the Bavarians welcome their league rivals to the Allianz Arena. The game will feature the League’s most prolific strikers in Robert Lewandowski and WoutWeghorst as the home side look to return to the top of the table with a win.

In September 2015, Bayern Munich marksman Lewandowski faced Wolfsburg in a game neither of both teams can ever forget. In that game, the Polish striker set a record by scoring five goals in just 9 minutes.

The visiting team will have it at the back of their mind that the former Borussia Dortmund man is a potent threat in Bayern’s forward line and they will be doing everything they can to keep him at bay. In the 20 career games Lewandowski has played against Wolfsburg he has scored 20 goals and they are one of his favorite teams to face in the league.

With Alphonso Davies recently returning from injury in the 1-1 draw against Union Berlin over the weekend, the Canadian may be dropped to the bench for Lucas Hernandez to start the game. Lewandowski already has his spot in the starting eleven except of course if he picks up a knock in training or during warm-up.

Leon Goretzka is out due to a hamstring injury, which means CorentinTolisso could be handed a starting berth in Central midfield. After just recently overcoming a knee injury, Joshua Kimmich may be left out of the team for precautionary reasons as he would not want to be rushed back into action.

Kingsley Conan is on fire at the moment having scored five goals and registered eight assists in just 13 appearances so far this season – raising questions as to whether Leroy Sane will be starting the game.

Wolfsburg captain JosuhaGuilavogui remains out of the fixture and is sidelined alongside Renato Steffen, YunnusMalli, and AdmirMehmedi. Kevin Mbabu and Ridle Baku did well against Frankfurt and may be retaining their spots.
