ROBBEN UNSURE ON FUTURE
Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben’s future has been thrown into doubt after the Dutchman has said that he will be delaying the signing of his new contract with the club. The 28-year-old only has a few seasons left on his current contract at the Allianz Arena. It was very much expected that he would be signing a new contract following the end of the Champions League semi-final matches. Bayern Munich emerged victorious from the Champions League semi-final after the 3-3 draw on aggregate with Real Madrid. Robben scored the crucial penalty for Bayern Munich, which helped them get level on aggregate.
The club will be taking on Chelsea at the Allianz Arena, thus becoming the first club in the history of the Champions League to play the final of the competition at their own ground. Yet, it does not seems to have persuaded Robben to stay any longer with the club after it was revealed that the Dutchman is yet to open talks about a new contract. There has been a lot of talk surrounding the future of Robben, who has been linked with a move to Italy. Juventus are the club are showing a lot of interest in the player, who moved from Real Madrid only a few seasons ago.
“Many things have happened in recent times. Franck knows that he can’t do what he did. These are all things that are not positive, not nice. That’s why everything has to be thought through well. Clearly, I feel at home in Bayern … but so many things play a role when you extend. That’s why you have to think very carefully before you make a decision. There are other possibilities, but that’s normal when you play for a top club. And people know what I can do,” said Robben.
